8 YEARS IN A ROW:  ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER NAMES

BLUE LANTERN INN ‘BEST BED & BREAKFAST’

(DANA POINT, CALIF.) – For the eighth consecutive year, Dana Point’s Blue Lantern Inn has been named the top Bed & Breakfast Inn in the Orange County Register’s annual reader survey, results of which were released today.  The 16th Annual People’s Choice Best of Orange County poll allowed subscribers to vote for their favorites in many categories, from restaurants and attractions to spas and lodging.

            The 29-room Blue Lantern Inn, part of the Four Sisters Inns collection, has long been as popular with locals as it is with visitors from outside the area.  “Many guests come to us on the recommendation of friends and relatives who live in Orange County,” said manager Lin McMahon.

            Though the Blue Lantern Inn has held its first-place spot in the newspaper’s poll since 2002 – and before that, consistently nabbed second or third place beginning in 1996 – McMahon insists the 2009 nod is as exciting to the inn’s staff as the award was the first time they won. “We work hard to give every guest an outstanding experience, every time,” she said. “Our standards for important elements such as service, food, décor and amenities are very high, so it’s wonderful to be recognized by the Orange County Register for our efforts.”

             Set on a bluff above the Dana Point Harbor, Blue Lantern Inn offers dramatic water views from nearly every window.  All guest rooms have fireplaces, jetted spa tubs, and some have private patios or decks overlooking the Pacific.
